As part of the activities to see off the Uket Abanda administration, the Post Graduate Students Government, PGSG, would tomorrow, July 19, be organising a public lecture on “Change vis-a-vis Politics In Contemporary Nigeria”.
The lecture which is scheduled to hold tomorrow at the University of Calabar Conference Center by 10am is billed to have as lecturers, top political icons, amongst whom are; Prof. Zane Akpagu, Vice Chancellor of University of Calabar; Rt. Hon. Bassey Eko Ewah, member representing Yakurr/Abi Federal Constituency; Sen. Prince Bassey Otu, former Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria representing Cross River Southern Senatorial District and currently a member of the board of National Health Insurance Scheme; and Chief (Barr) Okoi Obono-Obla, Senior Special Adviser to the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria on Prosecution.
The president of the union, Comrade Uket Abanda, speaking on the event, said this year’s version was as a result of the steadfastness and unalloyed commitment of the executive council and the support of the Vice Chancellor of the University. He also informed that the essence of the event was to encourage scholarship on current issues and intellectual development even as he pleaded the general public to make attendance.
