The election tribunal, last week, established that there is nothing like APC ex-candidates in existence, but ex-aspirants after it ruled that the APC Cross River State branch was without a candidate in the February/March 2019 elections.
Against this backdrop, the party’s ex-governorship aspirant, Sen. Owan Enoh, though yet to receive judgement on his petition, led a team of all ex-aspirants of APC in the state to a meeting with the party’s national chairman, Comr. Adams Oshiomole ahead of their perceived showdown at Appeal Court.
C has gathered that the meeting had, as agenda, the ex-aspirants runoff with INEC after the latter declared them “not fit” to partake in the said February/March 2019 elections.
Whereas it is on speculation that the meeting with Oshiomole came as a makeup for the setback on the ex-aspirants, having tried several contacts to secure a meeting with The President, but to no avail, they resorted to meeting the party chairman; however, an insider confined with CrossRiverDaily that the meeting was not initially intended for Mr. President but Oshiomole, stating that it was not on consolation that they met the party’s national chairman.
As at the time of writing, the details of the meeting were yet unknown, but our source said, the party’s movement to Appeal Court was inevitable.
