State Govt Drags Owan Enoh To Court Over The Murder Of Ayuk, Tangban, One Else

Cross River State Government has dragged fqormer guber candidate of the APC, Sen. John Owan Enoh to court allerging that the former Central District Senator unlawfully murdered one Mr. Ayuk Ogar and Mr. Tangban Obi as-well-as attempted to murder one Mr. Clinton Obim, all of Etung Local Government Area.

According to a court process dated 26th June, 2019 with charge number HC/48C/2019 of the High Court of Cross River State holden at Calabar, the State Government wants Sen. Owan to be tried of murder, contrary to Section 319(1) of the Criminal Code Law, Cap C16, Laws of Cross River State 2004.

Recall that during the governorship election campaigns, there were clashes between supporters of PDP and APC in Bendeghe Ekiem community in Etung LGA where lives of supporters of both parties were lost.

The state government now believes that the major opposition guber flag bearer directed the attacks and have booked five(5) witnesses to testify against Sen. Owan.

All from Bendeghe Ekiem community, the witnesses are Collins Ogar, Clinton Obim, Gregory Bisong, Agbor Mgbe and Ndifon Ayiba.

It is yet unclear to Cross River Daily whether the State Government is unaware of the death of other victims who are supporters of the APC or whether the victims were not citizens of Cross River State.
