Obudu Bye-Election: Hilliard Eta Petitions INEC, Says He’s In Charge Of APC Cross River

On who INEC should deal with as they make ready arrangements for Obudu State Constituency bye-election, Hon. Hilliard Eta, the re-elected National Vice Chairman (South-South) of the All Progressive Congress, APC has written INEC claiming he is in charge of the party here in the state and the rightful person to deal with on matters regarding Obudu bye-election which is in few weeks time.

According to Eta, the inaugurated State EXCO of the party under the chairmanship of Mr. Etim John was yet to resolve its misunderstanding with the Dr. Matthew Achigbe’s EXCO, a matter which has been in court since May, this year.

Hilliard Eta who denied the speculation that the national leadership of the party had long resolved the misunderstanding informaled that the party’s leadership was still dwelling on resolving the crisis, howthat, being aware of the court injunction on Hon. John and his EXCO, the said exco remains barred.

A letter dated July 23, 2018 and addressed to the Cross River State Resident Electoral Commissioner of INEC said in parts, “You are aware that the court has barred the illegal exco headed by one Hon Etim John from operating until the determination of the case in court”.

Written on the heels of the Obudu State Constituency Bye-election slated for August 11, 2018 by INEC, the letter also advises the commission to direct all its communication regarding the election to the office of the National Vice Chairman, South-South, Fearless Reporters said.

“In the light of the above, I hereby advise that all communications relating to the election be directed to the office of the National Vice Chairman (South-South)”.
