The Cross River State House of Assembly Committee on Due Process, over the weekend, requested for documents of all procurements and projects handled by the Permanent Secretary of the State’s Ministry of Works.
The Committee, headed by Hon. Edward Ajang said the purpose for this was to checkmate and ensure that all procurements and projects carried out by the Ministry were in compliance to due process and also that these projects were successfully completed, while those with pending status were paid expedient attention.
This request was made during an interaction with Mrs. Achu Ihort Glory, the ministry’s permanent secretary.
Further, other members of the committee, Rt. Hon. Nelson Ofem (Yakurr I), Hon. Francis Bassey (Odukpani) and Hon. Godwin Akwaji (Obudu) urged Mrs. Achu to be timely in complying to their request as that will better enhance their oversight duties.
On her part, Mrs. Achu assured the Committee of total compliance.
