Dodeye Arikpo who said “the Leboku has over time become the biggest event in the tourism calendar of Cross River State, probably only exceeded by the Carnival Calabar” stated that he is happy that the rich cultural heritage of the people is celebrated around this time every year.

In furtherance, Dodeye advised the Ugep Nation who boast of a proud ancestry and history should not afford to let this generational celebration and tradition die.

“In our quest to continually promote our rich cultural heritage, we shall strive to ensure that this annual event continues to promote our core values of hardwork; good neighbourliness, discipline and respect.

“Indeed this is the season all across the central senatorial district and as such, it must remind us of our shared heritage and the need for peace and love in and across our various communities . I wish everyone a happy Leboku season,” Dodeye Arikpo said.
