The Cross River State House of Assembly (CRSHA) today confirmed Barr. Alphonsus Ogar Eba as Director General of Cross River State Due Process and Pricing Intelligence Bureau after an evaluation of his records and a review of his competence.
Recall that Cross River Daily had reported the hold-off of Barr. Eba’s confirmation last week over his inability to appear before the Honourable House for interaction.
In CRSHA’s plenary today, the Honourable Members seized Eba’s presence to review his performance having served in the said capacity in the first lap of Governor Ayade’s reign. Consequently, questions bordering the Bureau’s revenue generation, strategy, approach of curbing the inconsistencies of direct labor and overall role in promoting governance in the State.
Eba, who boasted that the bureau which is a brainchild of the Public Procurement Law No.1 2012 of Cross River State as passed by the Assembly is the only Due Process bureau in Nigeria to be attached with Pricing Intelligence duties, even as he informed that the bureau, under his watch generated over N600 million as revenue having generated over N190 million and N136 million in his first and second year as DG, respectively.
After much questioning from the members, all followed by answers from the nominee, Rt. Hon. Peter Odey of Ogoja State Constituency and Leader of the House moved a motion for the House to confirm the nominee for the post he is so nominated. Seconded by Rt. Hon. Hilary Bisong of Boki II, the House adopted the motion and in a consensus confirmed Barr. Alphonsus Ogar Eba as Director General of Cross River State Due Process and Pricing Intelligence Bureau.
