C’River APC: Etim And Ochala Factions Resolve Differences, Sign Peace Treaty

Endurance Onun | Moonlight News:

After five (5) years at daggers end, the two factional executive councils (EXCOs) of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Cross River State have resolved their differences, even as they agreed to work in harmony for the victory of the party in the forthcoming Northern Senatorial District and Obudu State Constituency by-elections of the state.

This recent development arose from the party’s “high-spirited” caucus meeting of Tuesday, July 28th, 2020 holden in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory where both factional state chairmen; Hon. Etim John and Sir John Ochala signed a peace treaty.

Acknowledging the crisis the party in the state has enjoyed courtesy of their factional operation, the both chairmen regretted the party’s poor outing in the general elections of last year, 2019 as well as the local government elections of May, 2020.

A statement signed by the two chairmen and titled: “A Joint Statement By Sir John Ochala And Honourable Etim John On The Way Forward For Cross River State All Progressive Congress” said;

“We have in the interest of the party resolved that the two factions are now united as one indivisible body to foster the party’s interest in the state.

“The forthcoming senatorial district and House of Assembly by-elections are uppermost in our minds and have resolved to work for credible and acceptable candidates that will give us the much needed victory in the by-elections”.

They both admonished all chapters, particularly in the Northern District of the state to work together for the victory of the party in the coming elections, while promising to come out with one State EXCO for the party immediately after the by-elections.
