Calabar South Local Government Chairman, Hon. Esther Bassey has inaugurated her executive cabinet for the 2020 – 2023 council administration.
The inauguration exercise which took place last week saw the council chairman allocate portfolios to all supervisors designates as she urged them to think outside the box in order to proffer meaning solutions to the myriads of challenges confronting Calabar South, even as she begged them to imbibe the wine of teamwork.
Speaking during the inauguration of 20th July, 2020, the council chair held that the daunting task of advancing the growth of the local government demands proactive thinking and bold initiatives.
She enjoined the appointees to bring their wealth of experience to bear in the discharge of their functions for optimum and lasting results.
The council boss said the executive was carefully selected to reflect the peculiarities of the area and sued for synergy from stakeholders to guarantee attainment of the people-oriented programmes of the administration, while calling for commitment, dedication, transparency and hard work to guarantee maximum impact.
Earlier, the Head of Local Government Administration, Calabar South, Mrs Oma Ekefre said the inauguration of the Council Executive was timely and needful in view of the enormous task ahead.
In his remark, the Secretary to Council, Mr. Francis Ironbar, who spoke on behalf of the other members expressed appreciation to the political leaders for finding them worthy and pledged to justify the confidence reposed in them.
Francis Ironbar was appointed Secretary to the Council, Barr. Ukpong Eba (Legal Adviser to the Council), Ekeng Koko Henshaw (Special Adviser, Peace and Security),
Kate Okon Umoh (Supervisor for Health and Social Welfare).
Sarah Archibong was assigned the Finance and Supplies portfolio, Emmanuel Eyo (Supervisor for works and public utility), Utibe Ephraim (Environment and Water Supply), Edem Offiong (Agriculture and Mineral Resources)
Innocent Augustine (Supervisor for Budget, Due Process, Planning, Research and Statistics) and
Orok Asibong Orok is in charge of Education, Information, Youths and Sports.
The event was witnessed by top Council officials including the Leader of the Legislature, Hon Asuquo Ekpenyong, opinion leaders and party faithfuls.
