Buhari Support Group, NYA Inaugurates Cross River State EXCO

A support group for the re-election bid of Nigeria president, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari cristened, All Progressive Congress National Youths Alliance, APC-NYA has inaugurated a body to oversee its affairs here in the state.

The inauguration which held in Calabar, the state capital over the weekend is a brainchild of Chief Edet Asia, the group’s National Coordinator South-South who has been working around the clock to ensure that chapter states executives across all states of the region were inaugurated.

Speaking at the occasion, Chief Asia implored members to take a firm stand on supporting Mr President’s re-election bid in 2019 stressing that Mr President has achieved a lot within the past three years.

“It is our responsibility to ensure that nigerians are told about PMB’s achievements. Opposition mischief makers are doing all within their powers to make sure that Mr President is blamed for the hardship in the land. People forget that this mischief makers were in government for 16 years where all they did was to pillage the national treasury.

“Today, people are quick to blame the recession on President Buhari. But years before Mr President was elected in 2015, people like Prof Chukwuma Soludo, former governor of Central Bank has warned Nigerians of the impending danger if it did not save for a rainy days ahead.

“Emir Sanusi Lamido Sanusi has warned former President Goodluck Jonathan that if the stealing of the nation’s money is not controlled, Nigeria will sure find itself in a difficult position to even pay salaries and Dr Ngozi Okonjo Iweala also reiterated this position in her new book that is making the headlines now.

“Over the last three months, Buhari Support Groups have been too quiet and also, gradually buying into the lie by the opposition PDP.

“It is therefore our responsibility to go out there and tell Nigerians the truth about PMB achievements,”Chief Asia said.

While warning members against using the group to rally support for aspirants seeking elections in the state, Chief Asia said “we can support a consensus candidate that will fly the party’s ticket after the party’s primaries”.

Delivering his vote of thanks as the Chairman of APC-NYA in Cross River State, Mr. Ifere Paul assured the Zonal South-South Coordinator that he will give all that he has to make sure that President Muhammadu Buhari is re-elected as other members of the EXCO also pledged their support to enhance APC win for Mr President in the national and in Cross River State.
