The Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) has confirmed the death of one of its members, Rev. Sister (Dr) Kate Okpa in Ogoja bringing the number of NCDC confirmed Covid-19 deaths in the state to three (3) out of forty five (45) total cases among which, nine (9) patients are said to have been cured and discharged.
NMA state chairman, Dr. Ayuk Agam addressing newmen in Calabar said “Currently, we have nine members who are infected with Covid-19. We lost a member in Ogoja, Rev. Sister (Dr) Kate Okpa to Covid-19. It is something that is serious. The national response team has been around [in the state] for almost two weeks now”.
NMA while praising the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) for the attention it is paying to medical practitioners in the state pleaded with the State Government to do likewise.
At the moment, active Covid-19 cases in the state, confirmed by NCDC are thirty three (33).
