Barr. George Ekpengu, who until September 2018 served as Commissioner for New City Development has rejected the governor’s gesture of having him (Ekpengu) re-appointed, after he had recently resigned.
Ekpengu resigned sometime in September to pursue his House of Representatives ambition with hopes of securing Ben Ayade’s (his boss) support which never came as Ekpengu would later not find his name on INEC’s ballot paper.
To cushion the frustration Ekpengu must be going through courtesy of the setback, Ayade decided to send him back to office to take his seat as Commissioner for New City Development, however, Ekpengu has said he was no longer interested in the governor’s offer.
Whereas Ekpengu is not the only one who saw the”dark-side” of Ben Ayade in the recent political outing, his fellows, Godwin Ettah (Senate desired) and Osim Asu (House of Reps desired) had long accepted their re-appointment, hence, resumed work as Commissioners of Education and Works respectively.
