Cross River State governor, Sen. Benedict Ayade, has validated Cross River Daily report of 11th December, 2018 which informed that His Excellency was making plans to trim the list of his appointees, including Commissioners once re-elected.
According to the said Cross River Daily report captioned: “Ayade To Trim Number Of Appointees To 500 – Aide“, the governor intends to resize the existing 4000 (or there-about) appointees on his payroll as his “food-on-the-table” mantra would not see the light of his second term; no thanks to the new minimum wage.
Validating the report which many readers once condemned as false and a blackmail on the governor’s re-election bid, Sen. Ben Ayade last week gave a directive that all appointees should prepare their handover notes and submit to him through the permanent secretaries of their various MDAs on or before, yesterday, April 26th.
At the now, Cross River Daily can stoutly report that more than one thousand (1000+) appointees have sent-in their handover notes and the figures are expected to rise by next week Monday.
Speaking with one of the aides, Cross River Daily gathered that the handing-in of the note may necessary not mean termination of appointment as the date set for expiration of the appointments, as contained in their appointment letters is May 28th, 2019.
In a similar story, Cross River Daily is also hearing that the governor, again, has finished plans to move along with only eighteen (18) Commissioners as against the 28, currently at hand.
