One of the winners of the Dr. Linda Ayade Literary Art Competition, Mr. Ajang Precious has launched an online portal to promote poetry, short stories, spoken words and other literary arts in Nigeria.
Ajang in a chat with CrossRiverDaily, yesterday, said the objective of the portal was to serve as a platform to showcase poetry from poets, as, according to him, many of these said poets have no medium of displaying their works.
Commending Dr. Linda Ayade who is the wife of the State Governor, Ajang said this milestone was courtesy Her Excellency’s efforts in supporting creative writing as shown by her ‘Creative Writing Competition 2018’ whereof, he [Ajang] emerged a winner.
Mr. Ajang who gave the name of the site as; “U-Rights Magazine” and address; www.urightsmagazine.com also extolled the efforts of Mr. Lukpata Joseph, a creative writer, lover of arts and co-founder of the portal.
Onward in appreciation, Ajang thanked Hon. Goodwin Akwaji, member representing Obudu in the State House of Assembly for what he described as “his ever supportive presence”.
Ajang Precious who is a graduate of University of Calabar and a young talented writer and social activist using poetry as a tool for social change said he was greatly inspired by the works of Dennis Osadebay, Pablo Neruda, Maya Angelou, and others unmentioned.
When CrossRiverDaily visited the site, it found categories like; Issues, Submissions, Book Store, News, and others but even as Ajang told CrossRiverDaily that “there is a call for submission of works for the Magazine’s first Issue to be published in December and the deadline is 15th November”.
