ABUJA: Police Declares Alex Egbona’s Financier Ele Wanted Over N1.3 Billion Fraud

Police in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) has declared Mr. Samuel Ele Asebe of Anong, Ekureku Ward 1 who is a nephew and financier of Chief Alex Egbona campaigns, wanted, for defrauding the FCT Outdoor Advertisments & Signage Agency of its revenue to the tone of N1.3 billion naira, since 2003.

According to reports, Mr. Ele met his dead-end on the 7th of January, 2020 when he hired thugs numbering about 16 to molest some FCT revenue officials on duty at the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC).

Led by Mr. Ebele Nwokocha, the said FCT officials were severely beaten by Mr. Ele’s thugs, who, through the help of a quick intervention by FCT police, were arrested, though 2 are said to be at large as at press time.

Parading the 14 thugs, the FCT Police Commissioner, Mr. Bala Ciroma said the suspects were hired from some states to operate in the FCT. Howthat, the syndicate under Mr. Ele’s guide “is notorious for assaulting and inflicting serious injuries on government officials”.

“The command is making concerted efforts to arrest the leaders of the syndicate, Emmanuel Ele and Jerry Ogar who are currently at large,” said CP Bala Ciroma.

Also named in the crime is Mr. Julius Asor from Akarefor in Ekureku Ward 1, who is also said to be a top benefactor of Chief Alex Egbona’s campaigns for thugs hire and terrorism of voters on election days.
