Following the judgement of the Tribunal mandating INEC to retrieve the Certificate of Return and re-conduct elections in fifteen (15) polling units (PUs) for the Abi State House Constituency seat, the APC candidate, Hon. Iwara Inah has said that he is ready for whichever option the PDP candidate, Hon. Davies Ettah subscribes.
Hon. Iwara who spoke to CrossRiverDaily, yesterday, said that he is “ready to square them [PDP, Hon. Davies] upstairs or downstairs” should his opponent opt for Appeal Court [upstairs] or comes down for the re-run [downstairs].
Even though the PDP Hon. Ettah affirmed that, not minding the Tribunal’s verdict, his mandate was still intact, the APC Hon. Inah has noted that “Ettah’s name is now being written with pencil on his Certificate of Return and as such, the mandate is no longer guaranteed”.
According to Inah, even if Davies opts for the Appeal Court, the judgement of the Tribunal can not be flaunted, and, in the event he [Davies] comes down for the re-run, he [Inah] has gathered sufficient work-plan to upturn circumstances.
Hon. Inah who admonished the court for the industry invested in his petition, reiterated his believe in the judiciary as indeed, “the last hope for the common man”.
Also, the APC candidate seized the chat with CrossRiverDaily to glorify the commitment and steadfastness of his supporters before and during the election, up until the entire tribunal period. He also appealed to them to maintain a brotherly relationship with one another, even with those at the other divide, noting that peace must be sustained in Abi Local Government Area no matter the price.
