Former Speaker of the Cross River State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. John Gaul Lebo has called on the State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Austin Agbonlahor to, as a matter of urgency mandate his men to cordon the entire Ebom and neighbouring communities to avoid further killings capable of renewing communal conflict in the entire Bahumuno clan of Abi Local Government Area.
According to a press statement from the 8th Assembly Speaker and made available to Cross River Daily, “it is obvious that some criminal elements and murderers are on a prowl in the area”.
The statement, which is in response to the ugly occurrence of July 13th where one Mr. Oti Amani of Ebom community and his son, Mr. Sunday Oti were beheaded in their farm by unknown assailants, notedly advised that “the earlier we halt this ugly trend, the better”.
Reiterating the need for the Police CP to urgently fish-out the perpetrators, Rt. Hon. John Gaul also intends that proper investigations be carried out and no stone should be left unturned.
