The Speaker of the Cross River State House of Assembly and member representing Abi state constituency, Rt. Hon. John Gaul Lebo has made his interest for Yakurr/Abi Federal Seat known to monarchs and political groups in Abi Local Government Area.
Gracing the Adadama yearly festival, “Aji” over the weekend, The Speaker, in a meeting with the Adadama Traditional Rulers Council headed by HRH Eval Nelson Agbomi and Eval Lezekpakor VI Atatama informed that the news about his ambition to represent the people of Abi and Yakurr in the lower chamber of the National Assembly was true.
In their reaction, the traditional rulers who described the news as “blessed information” expressed delight over Hon. Gaul’s continuous zeal to serve; howthat, having lived upto the demands of his Abi State Constituency mandate, it was appreciatful of them to trust him even with more advanced mandates.
Engaging the ward executive members of his political party, PDP in Adadama, Mr. Speaker noted that his ambition for the Green Chambers was for the best interest of the party and all its members in Adadama.
Adopting Gaul’s interest as theirs, PDP Adadama noted that Gaul’s benevolence to them these past years have made it impossible for them to consider supporting anyone else for the said position, pointing out that his human and society development projects in the area and Abi at large were sufficient reasons for any well-thinking human to back him come 2019.
“Ranging from his educational rescue programmes, to his skill and capacity building programmes, not ommiting his medical outreach which was a huge success and in recent days his rural roads projects and many more are the reasons we the Adadama PDP Ward executive have agreed to firmly support Gaul without looking back,” said one of the Ward EXCO members.
Also, The Speaker paid a courtesy call to the Adadama Development Association (ADA), one of the biggest political families in the area to intimate them of his interest even as he beckoned on their support. The group, unanimously accepting to support Gaul said that having been religiously carried along in the Speaker’s eight years of service at the State House, they will work tirelessly to ensuring his victory at the polls.
